Description

Rotala sp. ‘Green’ is very similar to Rotala rotundifolia, but its leaves remain fresh and bright green, even with intensive light. Stems becomes 40-50 cm long and 2-3 cm wide. The plant forms many side shoots willingly and obtains a beautiful, bushy and “hanging” growth. It should be pruned frequently to maintain healthy growth. An ideal starter plant that looks best when planted in large groups

Planting Instructions

  1. Remove the label
  2. Remove the rock wool together with the plant from the net pot
  3. Remove the rock wool from the root system , take care not to break or tear the larger roots while doing this
  4. Plant the stems using tweezers into the substrate

Transitioning process – emersed to submersed growth in your aquarium

  • Provide good water conditions for your plants
  • Dose a respectable aquatic fertilizer for your plants , follow the instructions from the manufacturer
  • Provide the correct lighting spectrum , based on the plants needs
  • Prune dead leaves and stems constantly
  • A Co2 system is a good addition into your aquarium for the plants to flourish
  • Conduct 20-30% water changed once a week to ensure good water conditions
  • Patience is key for the transition to take place

In a few days, after placing your plants in the aquarium you will notice some of the leaves start to melt and fall away.

This means the transition process has started. Please note the plants might look DEAD, but they are fully alive, so do not panic. After a few days you will notice new growth will appear and the plant will fully change its form into submersed growth. Continuous trimming and fertilization is needed for the plants to thrive in your aquarium. All plants have specific needs but if you follow the general instructions on our labels the plant will transition well and will eventually succeed and prosper in your aquarium.

    Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a short-stemmed plant that can be grown as a carpet in an aquarium. It is found throughout much of Brazil, and it grows both fully submersed and partially submersed on the banks of rivers and streams.It will grow to a maximum size of 3 inches (7.5 cm) in a home aquarium, and will form a dense and impressive carpet if it is provided the right mix of CO2, nutrients and lighting.     Hemianthus callitrichoides is one of the smallest aquarium plants in the world, and creeps over the bottom with millimetre-sized round leaves. If planted in small clumps a few centimetres apart, it will spread rapidly and cover the bottom like a carpet. Hemianthus callitrichoides is an attractive foreground plant for small aquariums.     Eriocaulon sp vietnam

    Eriocaulon sp. "Vietnam" is not yet known for a long time , however it has already proved to be an easy aquarium plant - in contrast to a number of other Eriocaulon rarities in the aquarium hobby. This plant, not yet determined to species, was originally found in the Vietnamese province Thanh Hoa.     Hygrophila polysperma

    Hygrophila polysperma from South-East Asia is one of the hardiest aquarium plants available. Stems becomes 25-40 cm and 4-8 cm wide. It is particularly good for beginners because it grows in almost all conditions. It normally grows so fast that it is important to prevent it crowding out other plants. The shoots must be pinched out regularly. Leaves lying on the surface form small new plants. Hygrophila polysperma varies considerably in leaf shape and colour, depending to some extent on the light supplied.

In the right growing conditions with added CO2 and a nutritious bottom this plant grows fast and can become 25-50 cm long and each stem up to 15 cm wide. In good light it forms horizontal side shoots and becomes attractive and bushy. Most decorative when several stems are planted in a small group. In open aquariums it sometimes sends shoots above the water surface, forming small blue flowers.
