Please note: EpicAquatics is a wholesale only business, please use the store locator to find an appropriate retailer in your area.
All our plants are carefully selected and monitored to ensure quality products are supplied at affordable prices to retailers only. We have a strict policy of no end user sales. All the plants produced in our local greenhouses are grown emersed, meaning the plants are grown fully exposed to air. The roots and substrate are flooded with water, but there is no standing water above the stems and leaves
The reasons for this method of growing are below:
- Plants grown emersed ship better, they are shipped exposed to air just like they are grown
- No algae on the leaves, roots or stems
- Plants are much stronger and robust compared to submersed plants
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a short-stemmed plant that can be grown as a carpet in an aquarium. It is found throughout much of Brazil, and it grows both fully submersed and partially submersed on the banks of rivers and streams. It will grow to a maximum size of 3 inches (7.5 cm) in a home aquarium, and will form a dense and impressive carpet if it is provided the right mix of CO2, nutrients and lighting. This can be a somewhat difficult plant to grow, and should only be attempted by aquarists who have some experience with aquatic plants.
